About the author
Hi, thanks for looking at my author page. I've been writing about aviation, aerospace and defence since 1979, and full time since 1984. I was born into an RAF family, learned to glide before I could drive a car, and learned to fly powered aircraft with the University of London Air Squadron while reading history at Royal Holloway College. A minor medical issue ended my hopes of flying fast jets in the RAF, and I went into publishing. I edited a succession of 'part work' magazines (War Machine, Warplane and Take Off) and then the quarterly World Air Power Journal. I went freelance in 1995, and have written for most of the aviation magazines, while also serving as defence editor on Flight Daily News, Arabian Aerospace, African Aerospace and ADS Advance. I was lucky enough to win two Aerospace Journalist of the Year Awards, and a Defence Media Award. I hope that something that I've written brings you some enjoyment - blue skies and happy landings to all!
