USS Guavina (Cdr. R.H. Lockwood) torpedoed and sank the Japanese merchant tanker Taigyo Maru (6892 GRT) about 250 nautical miles south of Saigon, French Indo-China in position 06°45'N, 106°00'E.

20 Feb 1945 (position 11.22, 109.22)
USS Guavina (Cdr. R.H. Lockwood) torpedoed and sank the Japanese merchant tanker Eiyo Maru (8673 GRT, offsite link) off Cape Padaran, French Indo-China in position 11°22'N, 109°22'E.

5 Mar 1945
USS Guavina (Cdr. R.H. Lockwood) ended her 5th war patrol at Subic Bay.

21 Mar 1945
USS Guavina (Cdr. R.H. Lockwood) departed from Subic Bay for her 6th war patrol. Once again she was ordered to patrol in the South China Sea.

USS Guavina (Cdr. R.H. Lockwood) ended her 6th war patrol at Pearl Harbor. She is now ordered to the Bethlehem Steel Shipyard at San Francisco for a major overhaul.
