USS Barney picks up 43 survivors from the Panamanian tanker Sylvan Arrow that was torpedoed and sunk north-west of Trinidad in position 11°25'N, 62°18'W by German U-boat U-155.

USS Barney picks up 12 survivors from the Panamanian merchant Nimba that was torpedoed and sunk east of Trinidad in position 10°41'N, 60°24'W by German U-boat U-515.
