Around 0430A/26, the aircraft carrier HMS Furious (Capt. M.L. Clarke, DSC, RN) departed Plymouth for Rosyth. She was to proceed through the Irish Sea and around the north of Scotland. She had completed a short refit at the Devonport Dockyard the day before. On departure from Plymouth she was not escorted.

Around 1645A/26, HMS Furious was joined by the sloop HMS Enchantress (Cdr. A.K. Scott-Moncrieff, RN).

Around 1200A/27, HMS Enchantress parted company with HMS Furious.

Around 1625A/27, the destroyers HMS Fury (Cdr. G.F. Burghard, RN) and HMS Forester (Lt.Cdr. E.B. Tancock, RN) joined HMS Furious.

Around 1705A/28, the destroyers parted company with HMS Furious which arrived at Rosyth around 2000A/28. (1)
