History Launched in September 1932 as steam trawler RT-70 for Sevgosrybtrest/NKRP, in 1938 renamed RT-70 Kapitan Voronin. On 29 Jul, 1941 requisitioned by the Soviet Navy and used as dispatch vessel PS-70 in the Northern Fleet. 
Notes on loss At 19.00 hours on 6 Aug, 1941, the PS-70 was hit by one torpedo from U-652 and sank seven miles off Cape Teriberka.

This was the first U-boat success in the Arctic Sea.
