| History | In 1939 the steam trawler Washington (GY 468) of The Overseas Steam Fishing Co (Beeley & Sleight Ltd), Grimsby was requisitioned by the Admiralty as M/S trawler. | ||
| Notes on loss | At 10.32 hours on 6 Dec, 1939, HMS Washington struck a mine, laid on 5 December by U-59 and sank off Great Yarmouth. The trawler was en route to be fitted out as M/S trawler in Great Yarmouth after being requisitioned. | ||
