History
Notes on loss At 21.02 hours on 14 Apr, 1942, the unescorted and unarmed Margaret (Master Leonard Logren Davis) was torpedoed by U-571 from a distance of 600 yards. One torpedo hit the stern and ripped the hull to the upper deck. The ship sank stern first within five minutes. Some survivors were seen to leave the ship, but none of the eight officers and 21 crewmen were ever found.

* Estimated position shown here is based on positions of losses in a roughly the same German grid code. It may be a bit off but should give a good idea as to where the attack took place.
