| Notes on loss | At 08.24 hours on 3 May, 1942, the unescorted Ocean Venus (Master John Park) was torpedoed and sunk by U-564 about 12 miles east-southeast of Cape Canaveral, Florida. Five crew members were lost. The master, 37 crew members and four gunners rowed to shore and landed at Cape Canaveral. | ||
