Notes on loss At 23.17 hours on 26 Jun, 1942, the unescorted Pedrinhas (Master Ernesto Mamede Vidal) was hit by one torpedo from U-203 about 300 miles northeast of Puerto Rico and sank after being shelled by the U-boat with 22 rounds from the deck gun. The neutral ship was attacked because it was armed with a 120mm gun on the after deck.
