History Completed in April 1918 as British Roseden for Stephens, Sutton & Stephens, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. 1936 renamed Leo Dawson for Frank S. Dawson & Co Ltd, Cardiff. 
Notes on loss At 21.25 hours on 4 Feb, 1940, the unescorted Leo Dawson (Master Charles Edwin Underwood) was hit aft by one torpedo from U-37 about 15 miles east of Bressay, Shetlands. The master and 34 crew members were lost. The ship had been missed by a first torpedo at 21.11 hours.
