| Notes on loss | On 15 Nov, 1943, the HMS Quail (G 45) struck a mine laid on 11 November by U-453 off Bari. She was towed into the harbour of Bari but the damage was too extensive to warrant repairs. On 18 Jun, 1944, the destroyer foundered in 40°05N/17°52E while in tow from Bari to Taranto. | ||
