| Notes on loss | At 05.03 hours on 6 Jun, 1941, the Sacramento Valley (Master Harold L. Sharp), dispersed on 27 May from convoy OB-324 in 53°00N/29°30W, was hit amidships by one torpedo from U-106 and sank west of the Cape Verde Islands. Three crew members were lost. The master and 38 survivors were picked up by the British motor merchant Caithness and landed at Freetown on 14 June. Seven other survivors were picked up on 24 June by the Panamanian steam tanker Stanvac Cape Town and landed at Aruba on 3 July. | ||
