| Notes on loss | At 02.51 hours on 12 Jun, 1941, the unescorted Empire Dew (Master John Edward Elsdon) was torpedoed and sunk by U-48 north of the Azores. 23 crew members were lost. The master, 16 crew members and two gunners were picked up by the Norwegian destroyer St. Albans (I 15) and landed at Liverpool. | ||
