Personal information
Son of Olaf Eugen and Marie Gustavsen, of Oslo. Bernt Gustavsen, who had been seriously burnt, stayed in the hospital for 11 months after the sinking of Rinda. He then joined the Norwegian Navy and died when HNoMS Montbretia was torpedoed and sunk by U-262 on 18 November 1942.
