Notes on loss

At 09.45 hours on 26 Jul, 1942, the unescorted Oaxaca (Master Francisco Rodríguez Reybell) was hit on the port side in the foreship by one of two torpedoes from U-171 and sank in shallow waters off Corpus Christi, Texas. The ship had been missed by a first spread of two torpedoes.
