Notes on event

U-77 reported that she had sunk eight sailing vessels with gunfire between 22 July and 16 August 1942. Six of these vessels were Vassiliki, Toufic El Rahman, St. Simon, Ezzet, Kharouf and Daniel. The Adnan was only damaged and a unidentified sailing vessel was sunk on 7 August.

The Adnan was badly damaged with 28 rounds from the deck gun at 07.30 hours on 6 August 1942. Its wreck later drifted ashore near Karatas, Turkey and returned to service after being repaired in Alexandria.
