History Completed in December 1919 as Jadden for US Shipping Board (USSB) and later laid up as part of the reserve fleet. 1941 transferred to Canada and renamed J.B. White for Atlantic Transportation Co Ltd, Montreal. 
Notes on event

On 16 March 1941, U-99 attacked convoy HX-112 several times and sank five ships, Venetia, J.B. White, Ferm, Beduin and Korshamn and damaged the Franche Comte. The U-boat was lost after these attacks.

The J.B. White (Master J.W.R. Woodward) was first torpedoed and then sunk by a coup de grĂ¢ce from U-99 west-southwest of the Faroe Islands. Two crew members were lost. The master and 37 crew members were picked up by HMS Walker (D 27) (Cdr D.G.F.W. MacIntyre, RN) and landed at Liverpool on 21 March.
