History Built as Cornucopia, 1929 renamed Cornore, 1936 renamed Belize 
Notes on loss At 19.22 hours on 21 Jan, 1942, the unescorted Belize (Master Olav Georgsen) was torpedoed and sunk by U-754. There were no survivors, 17 Norwegians, 5 Swedish, 1 Danish and a mess boy from British Honduras were lost. On 24 January, the Canadian corvette HMCS Spikenard found a water-filled lifeboat bearing her name and four bodies 25 nautical miles east of St.Johns.
