| Notes on loss | At 19.22 hours on 21 Jan, 1942, the unescorted Belize (Master Olav Georgsen) was torpedoed and sunk by U-754. There were no survivors, 17 Norwegians, 5 Swedish, 1 Danish and a mess boy from British Honduras were lost. On 24 January, the Canadian corvette HMCS Spikenard found a water-filled lifeboat bearing her name and four bodies 25 nautical miles east of St.Johns. | ||
