| Notes on loss | On 19 Aug, 1940, the Kelet was stopped by UA with gunfire and at 09.10 hours hit by a coup de grāce, but the vessel remained afloat and was shelled until she sank at 10.01 hours. Earlier the ship had picked up 41 survivors from the Clan Macphee, which had been sunk by U-30 (Lemp) on 16 August, six of them were lost. The 33 crew members and the remaining 35 survivors were picked up by the Norwegian merchant Varegg and landed at Galway on 26 August. | ||
