USS Worden (Cmdr William Grady Pogue) was lost when she ran aground and was wrecked at Amchitka, Aleutians.

14 of the crew were lost in the sinking and the 233 survivors which include the Commanding officer Pogue were rescued by boats from the Arthur Middleton and Dewey.
