History

Baffin was crewed by sailors from the Royal Navy. She was engaged in minesweeping duties out of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Decommissioned and returned to the Royal Navy on 20 August 1945.
In 1947 she was sold for merchantile use under the same name, becoming Niedermehnen in 1952.
