History

USS Shark (ii) (Cmdr Edward Noe Blakely) is most likely sunk, by the Japanese destroyer Harukaze (offsite link), in Luzon Strait in position 20º41'N, 119º27'E. All hands lost.

On 24 October 1944 USS Seadragon received a message from USS Shark (ii) stating that she had made radar contact with a single freighter, and that she was going in to attack. This was the last message received from Shark (ii).
