HMS Varangian (Lt. S.J. Fovargue, RN) departed Dundee for Rothesay.

Upon completion of the repairs to her engine defects HMS Varangian was assigned to training duties with the 7th Submarine Flotilla based at Rothesay. Most exercises were carried out in the Clyde area but also in Northern Ireland (Londonderry) and Wales (Fishguard) (5)
