History

USS Finch (Lt. Thurlow Weed Davison) was damaged by Japanese aircraft off Luzon, Phillippine Islands 9 April 1942.
Abandoned by her crew the next day and allowed to sink in position 14º22'N, 120º35'E.
She was salvaged by the Japanese and served in the Imperial Japanese Navy as IJN W 103, sunk off Indo-China on 12 January 1945 by American carrier aircraft.
