OK, you wanted it, here it is, the website for the re-release of Das Boot is here. Not at all what it should have been but it's ok :) Take a look, it will answer many of your questions. It has some photos.

Look into the The Sony Movies Archive Index for "Das Boot".

But here is a better website from the producer of the re-release. http://www.dasboot.com. Here you can read about when it will be playing near you and much more. Lacking in photos though.
