Sunk (Scuttled?) 4 March, 1944 in the Barents Sea south-east of Bear Island, Norway, in position 73.05N, 26.40E, by gunfire and rockets from the British destroyer HMS Onslaught and Swordfish aircraft (Sqdn. 816) of the escort carrier HMS Chaser. 23 dead and 30 survivors.
