Sorry, but Jeffrey is right
Type VII U-boats always had wooden decks throughout the war.
The boats at the final stages of the war had a simple and much less
sophisticated flooding hole patterns.(Perhaps in an effort to make them cheaper and accelerate production rates?).
In the photos you mentioned can be clearly seen PAINTED wooden decks.
In some photos included in this very same website it can be seen U-995 with a different pattern of her deck wooden flooding holes
