Hi,
After I discovered your site yesterday, I spent maybe 3 to 4 hours just reading the messages in this forums. I've been modeling WWII armor stuff for about 15 years now and I would like to try something completely new. I did a few airplanes and figures but I never tried to build a boat. After I saw the movie U-571, the tought of building a U-Boat hit my mind. I tought about this for the last year and I still think that would be something fun and refreshing.
My only concerns now are what kit I should buy? I read some reviews, the U-99 from revell look like a good start. I know that it is not accurate. There is also the U-47 that look like a good place to start, maybe too expensive.
I'm ready to spend around $25 to $75 for a static kit. I would like to build something not too small like 1/400 but maybe 1/125 or 1/200. Which kit would be a good starter, in term of accuracy?
Thanks for your help.
