Your question really depends upon how far you want to go.
Previous posts have highlighted dimensional inaccuracies in the hull etc but please bear in mind that when this kit came out, it was the only game in town and made for the younger market (who at the time were the majority of modellers).
Basically it is up to you but I would advise that you spend a bit of time cleaning up the mould seams and concentrate on a neat assembly & paint job as it still looks a fine model when completed.
There are better detailed VII kits available but U99 still has the merits of being affordable, buildable and a great start into an addictive hobby.
