academy ix-b painting

hey guys, im glad i found such a sweet site. i have a question though, i bought the academy ix-b uboat and after major filling in, the sub looks good, but now i painted it. i airbrushed above the wtaer line light gray, theni painted the hull red. is red an accurate color for a uboat hull?
