Hello Donald,

due to my research, I think that only the upper net cutter was removed. On all pictures I saw U552 without the upper netcutter it looked a kind of makeshift. There is a picture on my webpage, www.u552.de (Folder "Bilder" and than "u552 Bilder des Bootes", there you see the bow with the mountings for the upper netcutter still visible. But i will do some research on the lower netcutter.
