I know these differences, I have an Amati kit in box with the different tower.

Finally I made a photocopy of its PE deck, cut it several places and put onto the completed Revell model. So now I see that it is shorter with 20 mms.

The hull of the Amati is out of details (except the upper parts what is PE,
so Revell's is better with the rivets, etc. in my opinion.
It is a good question if it worth to build one sub from the two kits, being both quite expensive.

Accordingly to the Anatomy of the Ship book the length should be the same as the VIIC (while Amati's kit seems to be the original one), but I could be wrong.
