Type VIIC/42

Anyone have any information about the type VIIC/42 U-Boats. These were apparently a tougher version of the type VIIC but with a thicker hull and armour steel rather than regular steel. I understand that some were started but I would be interested in knowing if any were completed. Stern covers the topic briefly in his book but not in great detail.
