RE: technological differences?

The last of the "diesel" albacore hulls is the USS Blueback on display in Portland Oregon at OMSI (United States). It was used in the movie Search for Red October( it was the sub that broached) and you can go on tours inside it. Very interresting and it still smells like diesel. I believe it had appx. 80 crewmembers and I got a little claustrophobic. I was told it was like a hotel inside compared to a WWII boat. It is not a boomer (missile boat) and I believe it is only 210' long. Just thought I would share the info.
