Thank you Don for the interesting stories that I will put into the gray matter. Now a couple of questions from me if you don't mind. Most of the pictures of U505 look like she was ready to sink at any moment. I don't believe I have ever seen any of her under tow with any of her hull behind the conning tower exposed. Was this corrected later and with less pictures taken. I also read here about how did any one know about the subs workings. If I recall one of the original boarders saw the water coming in the "sea strainer" and looked over next to it and the lid was sitting there! He just picked it up and screwed it down to stop the gush of seawater. Your comments please!!! and thanks
