Hi Andrew,
sorry "my english".
The Kriegsmarine found out that the FuMB 2 (a french broadcast receiver) called SADIR emitted. It was a oszillation radiation. What that exactly mean ??? But this receiver had a high radiation. So they thought the METOX, a FuMB (receiver) too, has such a radiation too. And the Kriegsmarine thought that the Allies had a receiver like the METOX to detect such a radiation, but that wasn´t right. The Allies never had a receiver like the METOX.
So the METOX was build to receive a radiation from a radar at 1.5m. And it did so.
And there was a oszillation radiation, but it was too low or weak to detect.
I hope I could answer your question, if not ask me again! I try to find out more.
