when i was in college i remember a teacher telling me that in world war 2 the united states used people who had cataract surgery as coast watchers. It had something to do with the removal of the eye lens and no replacement.I thought he said they could detect infrared but people tell me it would not work. Has anyone heard this story or know anything about it. Thank you
