I know I will get in trouble for asking, but I have done some reading on the albacore and I understand it had counterotating propellers on her last couple of refits. The space between the props was reduced a couple of times. Also the tail rudder assembly on her last refit was changed to an X shape. Now I understand this was albacores fastest configuration, as a matter of fact she is still in this conditon where she is now on display. My question is why don't we build subs with this type of tail rudder and counterrotating propellers? GER, you seem to know alittle bit about the albacore, I would be interested in hearing from you or anyone else on this in the know? Thanks Rick
