RE: U-47 Ventilation duct/Flender-werke

After looking into many books I found an original German propaganda book from 1940 called KRIEGSMARINE AM FEIND and on page 88 is a picture of the U-47 . This picture is looking at the boat from the starboard side looking from the aft of the boat to the bow at about a 45 degree angle. There is a large ship in the background and the crew is standing on deck but........I can see the rear of the periscope housing and there is no large oval duct work there !
Also I found a set of model plans from TAUBMAN PLANS SERVICE INTERNATIONAL on the "U-47 TYPE VII-B " ,the deck plans show the 20mm AA gun on the main deck and the wintergarden deck shows no duct work behind the periscope housing.
Also in KRIEGSMARINE AM FEIND on page 238 PRIEN is shown standing on the conning tower deck talking to various men ( luftwaffe etc. ) he is standing right
behind the periscope housing,I feel too close to it to have the duct work there. Still looking for that clear,crisp closeup of the u-47 conning tower deck to put this all to rest !!!!!!!
