Hi John

In U-Boats,both the attack periscope and UZO were linked to a mechanical analog attack computer.
When the target was duly aligned, the mechanical conections which there were between the gyro-compass and the attack periscope or the UZO, provided the attack computer with data about the current course and speed of the U-Boat and the bearing of the target.
Target range, speed and heading and the rate of turn of the U-boat, had to be introduced.
Once the required data was entered, was achieved a firing solution.
From then on, any change in the speed or course of the U-Boat, or in the bearing to the target were received by the attack computer and a new firing solution was automatically recalculated.
The required settings were passed automatically to the torpedos in their tubes.

So yes, the torpedo could be adjusted/aimed while they were on their tubes

Best regards
