Hi Frank,
Early tests in the Baltic showed this coating material to be about 15-20% "stealthier" (if one can so call it). The problem, however, was the adhesive used. It was unable to keep the rubber sheets attached to the boat's skin. Result: sheets of the stuff kept peeling off making the boat accoustcally noisier underwater than before. By the way nowadays Navies with ultra modern subs still have similar problems. Likewise, remember spaceshuttle tiles?? Rgds, RB
