I recall reading that the pressure hulls were made of an alloy called \"ST52KM\". I wonder if this has anything to do with the hulls lasting longer on the bottom than the thinner superstructures. And was the steel in the superstucture the same alloy, or was it, as I suspect, just regular cold-rolled steel?
