Hello, Rainer:
After your wonderful explanation, I still have some questions. Please, correct me if I´m wrong :
Tauchbunkers are flooded by the L.I. at will, in order to replace wasted fuel by sea water, aren´t they?.
Before consuming the fuel, they weren´t used as a Tauchzelle . Their evacuate valves remained closed during the diving.
After consuming the fuel, Tauchbunker were used as a Tauchzelle, opening their evacuate valves during the diving.
Regelbunkers were open at the bottom and they were free floded tanks. It was not necesary to flooded them. It was done automatically and sea water replaced consumed fuel.

Please, tell me your sources. Technical questions are my favourite subject about U-Boats.
