Hi again Tom,Hi Ger & Zach!

In order to seek answer to your question of the size of the charge
I stumbled on this info:

Squid was a 12-inch mortar firing three 390 lb bombs
in a triangular pattern,at about 275 yards mean range
ahead of its parent ship.

Depth-determining sonar was vital to its operation,
as charges were automatically preset to the depth reading given.

First production of Squid was completed in Sept 1943,
and by the end of the war, between 60 and 70 ships
had been equipped.
