I'm not exactly sure what the TDC (vorhaltrechner) was capable of so here is a couple of questions.
As I understand it you enter range, speed, AOB and bearing (usually feed automatically) and then you "lock" the position with the flick of a switch.
Now the TDC knows where the target is and starts to calculate a solution.

But what if I turn the uboat when a position is "locked"? As I understand it the TDC was able to compensate for it's own movement once the position was "locked", which means that it constantly has to calculate the bearing and a new AOB as the uboat moves, even though the target is stationary (in the TDCs mind). But then again what's the use for this since it will be calculating the solution for a target that is no longer positioned at the point where it was "locked"?
And what about range? It is entered by turning a knob to point to a number, could the TDC turn this knob by itself when compensating for the uboats movement or wasn't range altered by TDC once entered?
