Hello all:
Pressure hulls of type VIIC boats were 47 metres in diameter at their widest, and had a hull thickness of 1.6cm at the bow and stern; 1.85cm at the control room and crews quarters; 2.2cm at the conning tower. I understand that these hull plates
were made of galvanized steel. My question: Were the plates galvanized on both
sides? If not, which side was galvanized, inner or outer?
Regards,
