Hi Robert
The describtion from the book ("THE U-BOATS", page 23) is a torpedo from WW1. If you look at drawings of Pi1 from WW2 (Pi3 was developed from Pi1)you can see the long propellor spindel that has to move the initial charge down to the main charge and detonators. I can't see how it should fall off with the the water pressure comming in from the front.
