Hi K.,
Concept is similar. First proposed by Cdr. Schnee. Acchieved by lengthening type xxi design and fitting an additional set of six tubes (xxib) resp. twelve tubes (xxic) all aligned aft 10 degrees off the C/L. Did not proceed beyond the initial design phase. Rgds, RB
