The missing exploders are my fault. Somehow I managed to skip a couple of lines when I was copying the report into something postable (the jpeg images on the DVD are much too big to post, almost 2 meg each.).
On the way home, I was just thinking that another reason for the 25 second interval on the last shot may have been a desperate appeal from the dive officer to give him a few more seconds to get more water moved forward before the bow popped out of the water. They'd just expelled 8-1/4 tons of torpedoes in 32 seconds, and I recall the weight of seawater flooding into the empty tube is sufficiently less than that of a torpedo to cause trim problems during salvo firing. (Ned Beach once commented on having to hustle to keep TRIGGER from broaching during an attack.)
