Certainly, some torpedoes were developed for use on a spesific platforms, but in general the standard torpedoes (G7a and G7e) was/could be used on all torpedocarrying submarines/surface ships.
However, there were some differences in terms of configuration etc. For example:
A G7a torpedo launched from a submarine would have the "haltebolzenwiderlager" guidanceknob for submarine-tube fitted, while a torpedo launched from a surface-vessel would have the corresponding "hängewarze" for surface-tubes in stead.
Also, the "anlassvorrichtung" in a torpedo launched from a submarine should have it's filter and choke-screw removed (due to the different nature of a underwater- opposed to an "air" launch).
Other modifications did also take place, for instance was the G7e's used on midget submarines like the Biber modified to ensure more buoyancy by removing 2 of the 3 battery-cells.
